2. You can get a prepaid card without a bank account. But the cheapest way...
Is a debit card that acts as a credit card and is linked to a free checking account.

3. I am a wage slave. No credit card or bank account.
I use cash. As a "independent contractor" cleaning the disgusting toilets and filthy kitchens of the haves for a bit above minimum wage after paying taxes, I get paid in cash. The banks can go fuck themselves.

After surviving a half a dozen recessions in my working class lifetime this one took me and my husband down for good. Oh, and I have no use for hotels or redbox, lol.

There are many, many folks just like me.

4. I do encounter a number of people without bank accounts
My company can take payments over the phone from a credit or debit card, or a checking account, but there's a small but significant number of people who tell me that they'll drop off a money order by the office, they don't have any such accounts. I would imagine that if you've lost your job, you might have missed card payments, or even bounced a check that keeps you from getting another account with anyone else for a few years.

11. Same here H2O man
Debit card but never have had a credit card. I kept getting offers for credit cards until I finally called the issuing agent in Nebraska, (I think it was) and told them I didn't want any more of this sending me a credit card and all I have to do is call this number to activate bullshit. I got pretty western with them and they quit sending 'em. I'm happy.

9. No credit cards here,
I use cash, or checks

I've experienced very little inconvenience in my life due to this position and the benefits that I've received, and the problems associated with credit cards that I've avoided are well worth the downsize.

And my credit rating is excellent, and I've never had a problem getting a loan when I wanted one.

10. No credit cards, we live week to week
and cannot afford to buy 'luxuries'.

The only cards we qualify for are the 24-29% kind.

No, we don't have any of those.
And we barely have a checking account, as the credit union has several times told us that bouncing checks will get US bounced.
I don't know what we would do if we lost that, have to cash my payroll checks at some check cashing place, I guess.
