I'm a "perfect voter", and have been so for the past thirty plus years. I held political office in my hometown.

We'll be threatened with the usual: "pony", "President Bachmann/Palin", bla bla bla.

I am so, so tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Look at the Clintons, for instance. Once people are accepted into the ruling class, with all it confers, they don't want to go back to being regular schmos.

JFK's family was really big on service to those who had less than they did. I don't think the Kennedy family is/was perfect, but I do believe that compassion was drilled into them from the time they were very young.

Yeah, he was wealthy, but certain other parties are wealthy, too, and don't seem to feel the same responsibility.

FDR wasn't perfect, either, but he felt a responsibility to get the country back on the right track. He knew that giving a man a fish would feed him for a day, but helping him secure meaningful employment (and get his family back on their feet, too,) would far outweigh the cost to the federal government to do so.

Stable employment which gave people the ability to support their families and save a bit of money and enjoy life made the US a very strong nation during the 1950s. We need that type of economy. The current Hobbesian situation of all against all is making us weak.
