http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-metro-pastor-resigns-after-breaking-church-moral-guidelines-20110713,0,301891.story

"RAYTOWN, Mo.—
For over 25 years, Pastor Paul Brooks has led the congregation at the First Baptist Church of Raytown, one of the largest Baptist congregations in the metro. But now the church is looking for a new leader after Brooks abruptly resigned under questionable circumstances.

Brooks resigned from the church last Thursday, stunning the almost 5,000-strong congregation. According to a statement released by the church, "(Brooks) retired late last week after concerns surfaced about his activities that may have run afoul of the church's moral guidelines.""

2. Since when is one of the monumental 10 a moral guideline?
I don't think he should get off with a mere resignation. What say you?

Deuteronomy 22:22 "If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die."

Leviticus 20:10 "If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death."

Proverbs 6:32 "But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself." He destroys himself by being put to death as shown above.

4. So, from this I deduce...
If you're a SINGLE woman, you can sleep with as many married men as you want...

5. Well...
Until relatively recently, most Christian faiths didn't consider sex with a single woman to be adultery or even a sin. Depending on the faith, it was either a crime against her father (a woman was her fathers property until marriage, and sex with her lowered her value to prospective suitors), or was itself an act of marriage (many faiths cite Biblical passages which indicate that a couple are technically married the first time they have sex).

Either way, the notion that two single people having sex is "sinful" is a relatively recent development (and by "relatively", I mean the last couple hundred years).

6. Good for him!
At least he didn't beg and sob for forgiveness and blame it on poor Satan. His previous actions may have been hypocritical, but he stood up to it like a man.
