Cold and Calculating
No other way to put it.

Democrats didn't want to face these issues at election time. That is the bottom line, ladies and gentlemen.

Now we can suffer the consequences so they can be re-elected w/o having to deal with the issues, instead of winning an election on the merits and good policy. COLD and CALCULATING!

This is their VICTORY and our DEFEAT!

1. Oh, please. I don't think either side wanted to go through
this nightmare again, especially when they need to be on the road campaigning, not stuck in Washington for 12am votes.

Both sides fell short, I don't think there's a definitive winner yet. Time will tell and ultimately, what happens to the economy is what people will judge.

2. oh please. Republicans would have loved to run on it.
But the Democrats were afraid, weak, mealy mouthed.

3. I still can't agree. We'll have to wait and see what happens. Are
you anticipating that nothing will get passed?

Actually, listening to MSNBC now, there DOES seem to be less than 100% enthusiastic support for the deal.

Do you know when, after it's voted on in the Senate, when it will go to the House?
