Why Is Anyone Listening To The #@$%*#& Tea Party?

snip//

The truth is that no one but a few extremist right-wingers are represented by the positions to which the GOP has lashed itself. Here’s the proof:

It is almost unheard of to get 72% of Americans to agree on any politically contentious issue. Yet here we have 72% of the country agreeing that the rich are not presently paying their fair share, and that Medicaid should not be cut. And isn’t just a bunch of socialist lefties. This includes majorities of both Independents and Republicans. Let the significance of that sink in. It is not just a fair number of Republicans, it is a MAJORITY of Republicans.

So for whom is House Speaker Boehner fighting? For whom is Senate Minority Leader McConnell fighting? It obviously is not their GOP constituents. In fact, they are betraying their constituents and putting the whole nation at risk in order to pacify a cabal of small-minded, short-sighted, ill-informed, intransigent malcontents known as the Tea Party.

Of course, there is really no such thing as the Tea Party. There are no Tea Party candidates; no Tea Party policies; no registered Tea Party voters. It is nothing more than a radical faction of the GOP that has canonized the Founding Fathers and debased the Constitution with simplistic misinterpretations and ritual recital.

3. Ordered a small portion desert last night in the restaurant,
because they were all so large. So I ordered the "Sarah Palin" (half baked Alaska.)

Of course you are correct about the tea party, they are tools of the billionaires who have been indoctrinated by FOX news and
Rush the Lush!

5. We're Negotiating With the Them Because They are Holding Us Hostage

The Democrats are in a terrible position. They are trying save what they can.
Default will take it all. That's why the teabaggers want it.

13. There Is No Vica-Versa
Default is a win/win for the teabaggers:

They profit financially, since they are shorting treasuries.
They profit politically, by wrecking the economy and blaming Obama for it.
The polls don't show the latter as working, yet, but the media has plenty
of time to shift the blame.

We have no real leverage over them.

16. Of course there is
every time you hand over your lunch money to a bully, increases the chances you'll be bullied again. We're being terrorized this time because the president caved in on tax cut extensions last time. Within a couple months the teabaggers will take another "hostage" because they get away with it every time.

17. Except in this Case the Bully is the Local Protection Racket…
…and if we don't pay them, they burn down the entire store, and then make us take the rap for starting the fire.

These people didn't even whisper when George White Bush was exploding the deficit and plunging us into the Debts of Hell.

Just exactly how many self-professed teabaggers are there in this country, amongst the rightwing?

The Tea Party "claims" to have many independents and liberals amongst its ranks, but that is a lie, IMO, since there has NOT been any teabagger-supported candidates that I know of with a "D" or "I" after his or her name. If there are any teabagger voters who "think" that they are independents, moderates or liberals, then they must be few and far between, as well as being completely delusional, paid off liars, or hypocrites if they really believe that they are.

8. Two reasons
1. They own the media
2. No one stands up to them (mostly meaning the WH)

After the election, President Obama was sat down and told the fax of life.
Just follow orders and you and yours wont get hurt.

They CAN threaten and back it up, even the President of the United States. President Obama aint stupid.

14. Because of the lies told over and over on the MSM
by Republican and sometimes Democratic politicians, while the anchors sit there and let them tell bold face lies without challenging them. People start believing the BIG LIE. It worked great for Hitler and now it's working for the Heritage Foundation, et al backed RNC.

for the same reason they listen to liberals/progressives, moderate Dems and moderate Reps: they need their votes to get anything done.
