Former GOP state Sen. Nancy Argenziano to run for Congress as a Democrat
Obama's Version of the Democratic party is appealing... just not to Democrats so much. More like Reagan democrats, LOL!

"The Republican Party has left me, and I will run as a Democrat, in a sense permitting a claim to ultimate bipartisanship, along the lines of Ronald Reagan."

1. I think we have good Progressive Democrats without
taking in yet another Republican to take the party further right.

The last thing we need in this party is another Reagan Republican.

Is there a Democrat who can stop her in that district? I am not familiar with her or the district, but I hope there is.

5. Read the rest of what she said before making snap judgements.

2. Your post is deceptive. The rest of what she said is relevant.
"The current iteration of the party abandoned real Republican principles long ago to cater to ideologues and corporations – the Koch entities, most notably – whose interests lie in the profiteering of America and the sacking of the middle class," Argenziano wrote in a letter announcing her candidacy. "Current Republican leaders have neither patience with nor allowance for honest elected officials, and they demand that members of the various legislatures – who, after all, have sworn to uphold the Constitution – instead just follow the hijacked party line and shut up."

7. That's our problem
We need more 'real Democrats'. I'm really disappointed in the Dems we have in office. It's like most are stealth dems for the other side.

8. She's a Republican! That's all I need to know. She doesn't
like the loonies who joined her Party, too bad, then stay and fight for the 'old' Reagan Party she seems to miss so much. Me, I thought the old Reagan Party was also pretty bad for this country.

We are fighting to GET BACK OUR Party from Reagan Repubs/Dems who have taken it over for several decades now. The last thing we need is another Reagan Republican infiltrating the Party.

What are her views on Social Security eg? On Medicare, Welfare, Medicaid?

What are her views on taxes?

On the Bush Wars, was she a supporter of them then?

On Torture?

What does she mean by 'sacking the Middle Class'. The New Dems/Third Wayers also claim to be friends of the Middle Class, but their policies don't work too great for the MC.

Her party needs to be rescued. She would do well to get together with other Republicans who feel as she does and try to do that.

9. You make good points, but don't dismiss her without finding out
more about her. Party switching is nothing new.

12. I know it is nothing new, and I used to cheer on any Republican
who switched parties. But that was before I realized that rather than being influenced by the Dem Party platform, many times, they helped bring Republican 'ideas' into the party and over time, helped drag the party to the right.

What we really need now is the exact opposite since having two parties promoting Reagan policies on economics has led to the disaster we are now in the middle of.

More than ever we need to fill Congress with real, Progressive Democrats who will bring back some sanity to this country.

Eg, anyone who supported extending the Bush tax cuts made a huge mistake and never should have done so, even if the WH was pushing them to. Dems had the majority when that awful decision was made, but with enough willing to go along with Republican policies, this is where we are. And that is what needs changing. And I don't see a Republican whose main complaint is how crazy her party has become, as someone who might be helpful in this regard. Maybe I'm wrong though and if so, then it would be different of course.

11. She can't! Her former associates saw to that last session in a get back at Chain Gang Charlie
addition to that criminal election law they passed. Too bad, I was looking forward to her trading barbs with the undertaker.
