Ex-girlfriend files $50 million suit against Soros

George Soros' former girlfriend Adriana Ferreyr says the billionaire reneged on a promise to buy her a New York apartment.

Ferreyr Wednesday filed a $50 million lawsuit against Soros in Manhattan court, according to The Associated Press.

The 28-year-old former Brazilian soap actress claimed that the 80-year-old Soros had said he would give her an Upper East Side apartment worth $1.9 million, but later broke up with her and promised the apartment to another woman.

During a brief reconciliation, Ferreyr said that Soros told her of his plans.

"While still in bed, Soros slapped Ferreyr across the face and proceeded to put his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her," the lawsuit alleges.
