People like this scare me
Forum wrong about Bachmann

By: John Manesis, Fargo, INFORUM

In a recent editorial (Aug. 3), The Forum blamed the tea party and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., in particular for the impasse in the Senate and House over raising the debt ceiling. I strongly disagree.

The tea party, comprised of Republicans, Democrats and many independents, is the best thing that’s happened in politics in years. Members of this group have brought to the public’s attention the spendthrift policies of Congress and President Barack Obama.

Obama has not offered a budget plan in two years, and now that the tea party has taken a stand against spending money we don’t have, he wants to shoot the messenger. For The Forum to blame Bachmann for being intransigent and to heap kudos on Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., is the height of misplaced criticism.

It is high time a woman became president, and I can think of no one better than Bachmann. She is feisty, intelligent, honest and, unlike Obama, once had a job in the private sector. She promised to not vote for either a tax raise or increasing the deficit and kept her word. How could she do worse than Obama?

4. How Hard Would It Be...
to put the words, Obama's 2011 Budget, in search and come up with his proposal?
The writer is a lazy, lazy person. That isn't the worst of it. People will read this and believe it because they think it came from an honest source. And how could he support someone who doesn't even know the month in which Elvis was born? :)
