How Govt Spending on Infrastructure Creates Jobs (A Very Simple Example)
Government built airports and roads.

Federal Express and UPS, two Fortune 500 businesses, that hire thousands of workers utitlize airports and roads built by the government to operate their busineses. Without that infrastructure, these two business models would not be possible.

E-Commerce businesses like Amazon.com and Ebay use Federal Express and UPS to deliver products to their online customers. These E-commerce businesses created thousands of jobs all because of FedEX and UPS could deliver products quickly using government built airports and roads.

That's why spending on infrastructure creates jobs in the immediate term and increases economic activity over the long term.

Any questions?

2. I have a question.
How do we get Fedex and UPS to deliver products that are made here rather than in China? Lack of infrastructure is not the reason we are bleeding jobs.

3. Lack of Infrastructure Investing Is Indeed Why We Are Bleeding Jobs
Because we have not improved on our existing infrastructure, like building high speed mass transit systems, smart roads, and eco friendly transportation, we're not getting the multiplier effect of new industries being built upon the infrastructure.

Airports and highways begat FedEx and UPS.

FedEx and UPS begat E-Commerce.

We're not getting back the factory jobs from China. We're just not. We have to create entirely NEW industries, and the only way to get that started is through infrastructure spending.
