2. I knew Barbara Jordan.
My father who was very active in the Democratic Party helped her get her start.

I was lucky enough to have a bbq lunch sitting with her and my Father many years ago.

She was so impressive even to a little kid.

I hope my Dad and her are having a good time together.

She was a great Democrat and a beautiful person. She's deeply missed.

Thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed the Ann Richards one too!

5. Barbara was my introduction into "being a Democrat"
She was a GOOD Texas Democrat and had a lot of influence on civil rights and human rights.

8. My Aunt was big in Democrat politics and she was over the moon ..
when she heard Barbara Jordon speak. She spoke at one of the ladies functions at some point . I think I still have her autographed program in my aunts papers. Barbara Jordon wasn't a Liberal she was a Democrat.

16. Might sound hokey, but perhaps the greatest thrill of my life was meeting Barbara Jordan on a
flight from Memphis to Washington, D.C. back in the 1970s: she was then on my very short list of great living American heroes. :patriot:
