So the battle for tripoli has started
and for a classic thing about our nooz media... CNN, the LEADER in nooz is not covering this. MSNBC is on lockup... and per usual I have to follow this on twitter. There was a time that CNN would cover breaking nooz... but that was another decade.

1. It's the top story on BBC at least
It's a couple down on CBC, but we just had a 737 crash so that's somewhat understandable.

5. Found it, and it is a tragedy
understandable that CBC would put it at number one story.

6. And the point is that six hours on CNN, the leader in world wide nooz
is still on regular programing. Why is this so hard to understand.

9. CNN International does a pretty good job. I'm not sure of the corporate link,
but it doesn't make sense that CNN here in the States never picks up the coverage that's out there.

12. Running AJE on the IPOD right now
and all they can confirm is that the battle has started... and that some sections are controlled by rebels

16. It's kinda disorienting, isn't it?
I had it going for awhile this evening; the closest things to fluff were a comparison of the iPad 2 with one of the other new ones (fair enough in this day and age), and a human-interest piece about a Muslim football team in Dearborn, MI handling training, August and Ramadan fasting simultaneously (which was pretty interesting).

17. Just for grins I turned on the tv...
CNN - Piers Morgan rerun. An interview with Jimmy Fallon
Fox - Some sort of justice show discussing "...the week's biggest legal stories"

Al Jazeera rocks like CNN did back in Turner's day.

21. And they have the assets
CNN-I does compete with AJE... but they chose not to just stream their own CNN-I... at this point one has to conclude it is on purpose and reminds me off Pravda really, or 1984...

18. CNN did good coverage of this today
They had live reports every hour from Matthew Chance in Tripoli (who reported, for example, that at the Rixos he could hear exchanges of gunfire in the streets while Moussa Ibrahim was on state TV telling people that 'violent gangs' had been dealt with), and from Sara Sidner with the rebels in Zawiya.

The problem is that the cable network later went from their news shows to other scheduled programming, including Piers Morgan's interview show.

Check back in another 24 minutes when they go to 'CNN Newsroom.'

Some of today's reporting was posted at the 'Videos' page on their website:

19. I have had it for four hours, and really nothing beyond mentions
I understand the difficulty in confirming anything... but there was a time CNN used to really cover these things. These days I turn to AJE, and twitter... and it is telling about how isolated the US has become news wise.

By the way, not that I can confirm this, UAE consulate reopens with Rebel ambassador and so far 35 countries have recognized the rebel government.

Here on the Consulate
