Who should give and how much? The case of the East African famine crisis
The UK gives and cares a lot about the situation. Mexico pledged US$ 1 million. Singapore US$ 50,000. How much should different nations give?

1. you rarely hear about East African suffering here.
We do hear how Americans are not able to keep homes air conditioned and have one family car now instead of three.

somehow that's the case why there's a permenant cabinet-level department for international development in the UK while in America, USAID is constantly a whipping horse for cuts whenthe economy is bad and is usually under-funded.
