Four days after an incident which left six people dead and critically injured the congresswoman Gabriel Giffords, Palin released a video statement condemning the attack.

She denied that a now infamous campaign map showing Giffords' electoral district in the cross hairs of a gun had influenced the shooter Jared Lee Loughner.

In an attack on her accusers, she said: "Journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible."

Palin's bizarre use of language is sure to provoke further controversy – a blood libel refers to the false claim that Jews murder children to use in religious rituals. Giffords is Jewish.

Fact: You can't see Russia form Alaska except from 2 little islands in the middle of the
Bering Sea one of which nobody lives on and the other Little Diomede Island, where
Palin had never set foot on. But did that stop Palin from talking about "Seeing Russia
from Alaska?" Of course not. So when some speech writer puts the term Blood Libel
in front of her she just reads it w/ out a 2nd thought.

There's no way in pluperfect hell you can convince me that Crosshairs Palin - who is probably even less likely to have heard that term than her intellectual equal, incurious George - thought of using 'blood libel' in a complete sentence. Sounds like she's got an anti-Semite for a writer.
