4 Accusers and counting.... Who in the Cain Camp Didn't See This Coming?
IF there are 4 accusers against Cain for sexual harassment at this point, how could the Cain Campaign not have come across the same information in a background search of their candidate BEFORE he threw his hat into the ring?

And if there are presently 4 accusers, does it not stand to reason that likely there are more out there?

In any event, it is stunning how inept Cain's Campaign staff remains in responding to these charges as they continue to leak out.

I predict the blanket denials put out by the Cain Campaign will just draw even more attention from the voting public, and his polling numbers should begin to take a nosedive.

We may not have seen anything close to how ugly things will eventually become .....

he believed his own bullshit.

he drank his own kool aid and liked it too much.

2. What amazes me is that Repukes continue to present these perverts as potential reps of their party
Certainly shows what Repukes are made of.

6. They hate Obama and are slaves to their own philosophy so much so that they don't care.

They are good. We Democrats are bad. It is truly about being at war between us and them. They'll do anything to win that war, even if it means being the biggest hypocrites ever.

11. Exactly!! But the point I'm making is that they don't care that they are hypocrites
They truly believe that whatever bad they do is forgiven by God because they are the chosen ones in the battle between good and evil.

The book by Jeff Sharlet called The Family opened my eyes to how Republicans think. They truly are convinced that since God has chosen them to lead the world, that whatever transgressions they commit are justified because they are inherently good. They are chosen...

15. Yep, look at who's defending Cain now.
Gingrich defends Cain, says media more focused on gossip than solutions

12. Repubs can't govern for sh*t
but they can out campaign anybody. With Lee Atwater's protege Rove at the helm, they are masters at character assassination politics.

4. No doubt there are plenty more who are too embarassed/fearful to publicly
corroborate these other accounts. I think a 10:1 ratio is probably close. A serial abuser like this didn't happen just happen to get unlucky with his 4 choices...there are plenty more women who've experienced this man's unwanted sexual advances. Truly a scumbag - and yet he's going to be defended by a large percentage of Republicans who think he should be President. What a sick bunch of people.

5. If this is the kind of research, prep, and response we could expect from a Cain Presidency ...
... what must our allies and our enemies be thinking right now?

7. Considering that it is rare for women to pursue these sorts of things,
my guess is there are MANY more victims.

8. I have thought all along it will be the women who did not reach a settlement ...
who will now be most dangerous to Cain's quest for the White House.

Where there was no settlement reached, there was no confidentiality clause to prevent these women from speaking out now -- and selling their stories if they so desire.

However, just think for a moment -- the longer he remains in the race as a viable candidate, the more deadly will these stories become as other women step forward and tell their stories in detail.

10. I really think this man is 99% ego and 1% brain matter
It's been fascinating to watch him attempt time after time to shout down the questions. It's obvious he's a control freak, and in his private life has been able to *control the message*. Now that he's on a higher level -- he can't.

Watch his eyes when he gets pissed off -- he blinks like crazy. Talk about suppressing rage! EVERY interview he's had that *eye* thing whenever he's been asked hard questions or made to look a fool.

I feel sorry for his wife. I cannot imagine what her life has been like, living with such a repulsive piece of work.

And he's too stupid to STFU and slink off into the sunset. He's DUMBASS + EGO personified.

13. He got into this to sell his little book. He wanted to be a player.
I don't think he expected to go this far.

He doesn't have much of a campaign staff--he's been adding to it as the whole mess has picked up steam. His organization is not terribly cohesive.

I think he'll play the victim for awhile, eventually start running out of gas, and grind to a halt, eventually. He's reached his sell-by date, almost.

He'll still get to play pundit on the news shows for the next year, I'll bet.

14. Why would they care?
First of all his campaign was a joke even without all these accusations.

Second of all, there is the history of Clinton and Flowers to go by. Maybe they thought he only had the two on record, and decided to gamble that it'd go no worse for Cain than it did for Clinton.

16. I think his team probably did know, but thought that they could handle it
It worked for Edwards, after all. People forget that story first hit in Oct. 2007, when he was very much alive as a candidate. He denied it and it pretty much went away. It had no bearing at all on the success or failure of his 2008 bid.

Every candidate has dirt of some kind. The only question for the team is if said dirt would be enough to bring them down. I guess in Cain's case they calculated that it wasn't. They could be right too - we'll see.

19. Makes sense if you realize
he never ever thought he'd get this far. Plus his enormous ego was always there, so of course he figured every woman wants him -- he's prolly always been a lecher. And the Koch bros have been whispering sweet nothings in his ear, telling him he's golden, without due diligence and thorough venting. So the stage for this fiasco was set and ready to blow.
