yes Lawrence cops are lousy shots.

I have crawled into a few shoot outs... and only reason I was not hit, is because statistically it is lousy shots, no matter where.

SDPD here is happy as a lark since they are at 15% hit ratio.

Usual hit are at 10% or less.

Yes I once wrote an RPG, in early play testing we were ultra realistic... aka we missed a lot... which makes for LOUSY game play.

4. Yes, yes it was
and the part that is amazing is just how much people do not realize just how bad of shots cops are.

My Father in Law used to be a psychiatrist for the southern region for CHP. FBI and two local departments... talk about badges, One story with the CHP... after the gun powder cleared cop fired 150 rounds. with no hit. That was an extreme example but.

That don't mean I ever enjoyed crawling into mosquito riddled territory.

11. I would have said Im willing
to accept the risk to preserve the freedom. "He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither" - Benjamin Franklin.

The chances of being killed by a schizophrenic with a 30 bullet clip are infinitesimal, and its more important to preserve freedom, so Im willing to accept that these kinds of extremely unusual incidents will occur in a free society.

14. Maybe on guns it is,
I guess Im right wing on guns.

It never made sense to me to be "liberal" on every right in the Bill of Rights but the 2nd. I say they all should be interpreted liberally.

15. Gun/violent crime is way down though
from where it was a decade or so ago. I think its at its lowest point since the 60s. Thats what justice dept stats show.

And theres less gun control now. Just sayin.

Nobody will take your guns away... or for that matter mine. But... there are certain things that are truly not needed, unless we have a zombie invasion... one of them is well.. extended clips.

I know the second amendment is absolute and we should get used to more of this. I suspect that after a certain number of them... I cannot tell how many. the demand from the people will be there for some common sense regulations. Suffice it to say the NRA is a radical organization.

Oh and one more thing.. while gun ownership is up... among certain groups... it is really not up among most of the population... but that is a sociological discusion well beyond DU.
