Feds want cars to be able to talk to each other, to prevent accidents

I'm sure there's no NSA component to this. Just keep using those apps on your phone, send emails, post and chat on your cell to take your mind off your paranoid worries, you silly! Or, take a walk on camera and voice detector filled street. If you've done nothing wrong, you don't need the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution or, for that matter, any part of the Bill of Rights that government doesn't think you should have.

But, cars will probably cost more. After all, why should the federal government bear all the costs of spying on you in violation of your Fourth Amendment rights?

2. What if the cars listen, as well as talk?

they can listen to us on our phones.

I don't remember where I read this, but one of the SCOTUS Justices allegedly told someone that there were listening devices that could be on the street and "listen" through windows. That means they can listen to you conversing in your home.

I am almost positive it was Brennan. If that is correct, it would have been long ago. In any event, it was not a current Justice, but I remember it being the name of a Justice whose word I personally would trust.

There are cameras, and probably some listening devices, on Boston's streets, not very far apart, either.
But what about those pesky cars?

And, if the the cars listen, what is left? Where will you be able to have a conversation, knowing no one can hear you Boats? Maybe they'll start requiring devices that enable them to "talk" to each other, too. And to the Coast Guard, too, cause, you know, the USG cares about us about our safety so much. Hmmm. Maybe if you buy a rowboat or canoe and keep it under lock and key, you can have hope of a truly private convo? Check the oars!

And here is the annoying part. If they have these capablities, you know it's only a matter of time before private parties can get them, too.
