Hahaha - Looks like the RW wackos in charge in Az don't have the votes to change the 14th amendment.
Even with their huge wins in November, they still can't do it.

PHOENIX — The Arizona lawmaker who proposed a challenge to automatic U.S. citizenship for children of illegal immigrants called off a scheduled vote on his measure Monday because he didn't have enough votes to get it out of committee ....

...The Arizona Senate judiciary committee heard three hours of testimony from legal scholars, immigrant rights activists and business lobbyists on Monday.

What a relief to know there is still some sanity in this state.

Doesn't mean Russell Pearce will give up trying, tho.

3. Lol - they can't even get it out of committee - a committee dominated by SB1070 worshipers.

5. I'd hate to posit saner heads prevailing
But maybe (maybe, maybe, maybe) someone decided that there might be something more important for the legislature to attend to than a clearly unconstitutional bit of tantrum-throwing. Okay, it's a long shot, but it could happen.

11. The Arizona state legislature thinks it can single-handedly repeal
the 14th Amendment?

I lament the decline in the number of lawyer-legislators nationwide.

13. They can't do it with ONE legislature
To repeal, they need ANOTHER amendment - and that means 3/4 of ALL state legislatures -right?
