15 Executives Who Get Paid Millions To Deny You Health Care Coverage
The business model of American health insurers is basically: try to get healthy customers as clients, and then resist as long as possible when it comes to paying out claims.

That’s actually not an indictment or a criticism.

It’s just the way our system works, and it’s screwed up.

Whatever you feel about Obamacare, you probably think our current system needs reform in some sense.

Below we present the posterboys of the problem. Top healthcare CEOs making millions, leading companies that deny you coverage.

See who they are: http://wallstcheatsheet.com/breaking-news/15-executives-who-get-paid-millions-to-deny-you-health-care-coverage.html

1. Blood money...
Our health should NOT be a for-profit business.

13. I don't hate the rich...
I hate the greedy. There is a difference.

My concern here is hearing RWers talk about how Libruls hate the rich... it's becoming a talking point.

26. I don't hate anyone
These guys are rich pigs, with apologies to pigs.

Most of the rich got rich by being greedy somewhere down the line. There are notable exceptions, but most rich people or their ancestors didn't exploit just a moment by being in the right place at the right time with a little cash or stunning innovation; they exploited the less advantaged and went home and slept well.

11. If you want to start
that trend then make sure you only get your health-care services from not-for-profit providers. Health-care is not a problem that can be fixed in the current environment via a top down method. We have to start from the bottom up.

Note, health care and health insurance are not the same thing. If we don't like the insurance system we can avoid that, at least for the time being. But we still have to address rising health care costs.

12. We had a perfect model in Kaiser...
And it was demonized by those who wanted to make a profit. Oh, the lies that were told!

I worked for a health insurance company for five years... in the trenches. I wrote letters in response to patient complaint letters. There's very little I can be taught in this regard.

8. Bonercare won't be better
we can at least fix this, since it has already passed. Even the mess this one is, we will probably not be able to do it again. SO lets just fix the one we already have.

14. Sure it will
Why do you suppose the insurance companies put so much money and effort into doing away with healthcare reform?

It's not "Obamacare" and I really hate seeing RW memes and talking points furthered here.

16. I can't really call it healthcare reform either.
At best it is a weak health insurance reform bill.

And insurance is not health care.

19. Once insurance is reformed
Healthcare itself will follow.

Weak is better than nothing, and there is already movement toward more changes. Plus, some of the changes already in place don't take effect for a few years.

I'm not sure what people expected from Obama when he has all that party of no weight around his neck.

28. it's Ginrich/RomneyCare. (all plagiarism and time aside)
A republican plan that will be very harmful to the working poor that will be forced to take on a policy they can't afford with a high deductable that will make it too unaffordable for most of the working poor to actually ever use. A republicans wet dream that was stolen and re-branded by a false flag Democrat who believes in Republican solutions.

I expect to see the end of the few remaining college savings accounts people may have as they will have to use that money for unusable(without a large loan) policies.
Denial of care (yes they do that even if the patient will die from such inaction) and postponement of care (to allow them to die before expensive procedures to save them can be used) will still be allowed.

Republican solutions to health care are historically some of the worst ideas this country has seen but for some reason that is the only kind of policy our president and congresscritters will allow on the table.

Gotta' love the Reagan Democrat President and his love for all policy GOP> a match made in heaven.

17. I bet if you made a sign, named them, and put crosshairs where they lived ...
and then called them the DEATH PANEL ....

Sarah Palin, Rush, Glenn, and the rest of the GOP would have no problem with that.

18. For profit health care is without morals.
One does not ask to be conceived nor born and personal health is a roll of dice predominantly based on genetics and birth environment.

Too many born to poor health outlook also give up at some point or are never instilled with the will for health by the environment while young. One has better health care if attractive or smart.

Religion should be taxed for profit and health care a non-profit human right.

Maybe that is a practical fix? lol

I have a good place in my heart for nurses. There should be more nurses and doctors and other medical and health care technicians and aides. A greater proportion of medical doctors are in the field for the wrong reason and benefits, whether by family expectation or money or ego (and not to say there are doctors who are doctors at heart5 and generous and of good heart and faith with patients). The medical doctors that gravitate to administration and finance and rise to the top are cancers to human health care.

People in human health care -- there should be more employment bottom to top in the USA with a flattened income curve (think of minimum wage home hospice nurses) -- should be well compensated because of the time and education and heart and bravery to be the the profession. Weed out the greed heads especially in management and finance and go non-profit.

Problem in the USA is better if not solved by this approach and the direction would be positive also.

Hey, we might in several years approach the security, benefit-cost, and humanity of our peer nations.

Sounds like socialism but the fact is we have a mixed economy and always will and a good strategy is to find entrepreneurship and local niches that work.

The World is so fucked. I expected better as a youth and student.
