International Union of Painters offers to clean up any damage to the Capitol for free
"Any alleged damage" -- it's clear from the wording they don't believe there was any.

Wisconsin State AFL-CIO: Workers question Walker's estimates, offer voluntarily cleanup of so-called camages
3/4/2011

-snip-

Statement by IUPAT on Alleged Damage to Capitol

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 7 has over 100 years of experience in painting and in the removal of adhesive tapes from the Capitol building. IUPAT Business Manager John Jorgensen believes that the estimates to Capitol damage by state officials are not accurate.

“After inspecting the Capitol early Friday morning I am 100% confident that any so-called 'damage' done by community members expressing their First Amendment rights is no where near $7 million. This estimate is yet another gross overreach. I would like to personally offer IUPAT labor on a volunteer basis to address any alleged damage from protester’s signs and tape during the protests.”

4. How can you do $7 million in damage with *tape*? More bullshit from
Hosni Walker, obviously. Raw meat for Faux "News." Unless you've stuck duct tape all over the Mona Lisa, you're not going to do that kind of damage with fucking tape.

32. Maybe they plan on hiring Halliburton for the clean-up.
4 bags of rags - $4.00
4 Merry Maids for 8 hours each - $480
4 bottles of Goo-Gone - $16
Profit from no-bid contract $6,999,500

6. This makes me chuckle....takes all the bluster out of the whiners wringing
their hands over damage to the capitol! Can't believe they're worried about tape damage. Wonder if they've ever heard of Goo Gone? Probably not.

10. Thanks to my BCTD brothers and sisters....
Have to put in a big plug for the professional crafts of the Building and Construction Trades...4 years of apprenticeship and all worth every dime of that training. It's getting harder and harder to find a union-trained skilled tradesman to do residential work anymore, which is a disgrace. Fortunately, they are still available to us in the commercial world and for times like these - well done, IUPAT!!! You guys rock. Take care of the Wisconsin Capitol for us all.

14. For free?! Nonsense!
Offer to do it for half the estimate. No sense letting Walker's whopper about the estimated "damage" not make a pile of money for the union. Watch that "damage" estimate sink faster than Glenn Beck's ratings.

28. Absolutely right on
do it for even a third of Hosni Walkers phony estimate and I agree that even from that amount, the "damage" estimate would sink faster than Rush Limbaugh dropped into a swamp filled with crocodiles and "Glenn Becks" ratings. Thanks for the comment, these wonderful union guys and gals might as well make a buck. I'll bet the damage, if there is any, is probably no more than $2,500.00 smackers. What lying sacks of excrement these Republicons be.
Lou
