They want to defund contraception, make it nearly impossible to get an abortion, and deny healthcare
to the baby, and it's parents, once it's born. And that's just the beginning. Head Start programs or All-Day kindergarten to give that child a better chance? Forget it! Just throw that child into a classroom with 60 other kids with a teacher who is not very happy because s/he lost tenure and collective bargaining rights. Defund the school breakfast program, and serve only lunches that are full of high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and little nutritional value. Defund after school programs so that child has nothing to do after school while mom and/or dad is at work. If they get in trouble - no problem, we have plenty of jails.

Stop funding Pell Grants, and raise college tuition so even though that child who has an above average IQ cannot get into college, or even a trade school. OR make sure they start their adult life with tens of thousands in debt. Or they can just join the Army and get their education that way.

Defund the EPA and the FDA so that protected fetus breathes filthy air and eats foods that make them ill. And if they should get sick? Oh well, it's not your responsibility to pay for their healthcare.

Can someone please tell me how this makes any sense?

And can someone please tell me what the hell republicans are thinking? Or if they even do?

1. Of course they don't think. If they tried, their feeble brains would explode.
All they want to do is control everybody ELSE'S life.

3. Of course, the main target is birth control -- and regaining control over women's
reproductive freedom --

It's never really been about abortion --

Same with Vatican - they fight abortion because when they totally lose on that,

then they've also lost on birth conrol.

Meanwhile, RCC members continue to ignore the Church on both birth control and

abortion -- that's why the church wants government to ban it.

Catholic women have just as many abortions as any other women.

Well, other than the handful of obscenely rich people.

8. This movement has nothing to do with an educated populace and everything to do
with greed and a captive labor force. It's all about money. They have sucked this market dry and are moving on.

6. Can I just go ahead and say it????
Remember when the Nazi's pulled the gold teeth off of the Jewish before they gassed them?

Same thing. They are picking the carcasses before they kill them. Simple enough.

We are obviously at the End Game. They aren't even going to try to pretend civility anymore.

If people don't recognize this, we are gone.

7. It makes perfect sense if you are trying to create a huge peasant class.
The best way to oppress people is for them to be burdened with children they can't afford. They've worked that system for hundreds of years. Serfs, share croppers and the company town system they had, all kinds of examples.

9. The objective is to cement in place the division between the classes.
Country-Western fans already have the message:

"A rich man goes to college and a poor man goes to work."

Charlie Daniels before he went totally bad.

13. Cherish the Zygote, Ignore the Child, Harass and Torment the Woman.
Make it all about the woman being "bad" for wanting to avoid having a baby every year. (Which Bill O'Reilly considers "normal.")

It's unbelievably cruel to force women to have babies they know they are incapable of taking care of, financially and/or emotionally and/or physically.

And yes, I agree it's all about keeping a surplus of workers available to the overlords.

16. Double bind.
it's the classic ploy for control.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bind

A double bind is an emotionally distressing dilemma in communication in which an individual (or group) receives two or more conflicting messages, in which one message negates the other. This creates a situation in which a successful response to one message results in a failed response to the other (and vice versa), so that the person will be automatically wrong regardless of response. The double bind occurs when the person cannot confront the inherent dilemma, and therefore cannot resolve it or opt out of the situation. For example, if your employer tells you to do a job but doesn't allow enough time for you to do it and you are in danger of losing your job if you question the situation you are in a double bind.
Double bind theory was first described by Gregory Bateson and his colleagues in the 1950s.<1>
Double binds are often utilized as a form of control without open coercion—the use of confusion makes them difficult to respond to or resist.
A double bind generally includes different levels of abstraction in orders of messages, and these messages can be stated or implicit within the context of the situation, or conveyed by tone of voice or body language. Further complications arise when frequent double binds are part of an ongoing relationship to which the person or group is committed.<2><3>
Double bind theory is more clearly understood in the context of complex systems and cybernetics because human communication and also the mind itself function in an interactive manner similar to ecosystems. Complex systems theory helps us understand the interdependence of the parts of a message and provides "an ordering of what to the Newtonian looks like chaos."
