Looks like a good one. He has really gone above and beyond in his support of public school teachers. Way to go, Ed!

2. Yup.
I love his respect and support for his teachers. It really comes through, and Ed is not exactly the "academic" type. His praise for his teachers is very touching.

3. He shouldn't talk about striking. Its a huge deal for public employees as you
can get fired and lose everything you worked for all those years.

4. He can't talk about it?

I don't know if he is pushing for it. Obviously, it's up to the union membership to make those decisions and they will do so in their best interests.

5. His mother was a public school teacher
So he knows first hand how much BS is being dished out by the right wing shills.

6. It has been an amazing show tonight!
I have had MSNBC on since I got home from work. Hardball, Lawrence, Rachel and now Ed. Very informative and scary shows tonight. I'm more fired up than ever!

7. Yes, here in Virginia
He is at Maury High School which is very diverse. I'm so glad he brought up how the budget here in Virginia is hurting the teachers. My son teaches in Newport News which is part of the Hampton Roads area and has not had a raise in 3 years. Now they are saying they are going to give them a check for $500. at the end of April to mainly in his words "shut them up". Really sad, he has been teaching for 10 years and makes less then his sister does teaching in NYC, and she is in her 2nd year. Now, what they want to do in NYC is ridiculous, they are talking about cutting teachers with 5 years or less. With all the assaults they have had on them lately, my heart aches for both of them and all the teachers around this country.
