(Ohio) Schools didn’t see this cutback coming
Numerous central Ohio schools are reeling from what several education leaders call “a broken promise” that has districts losing more money than they expected from the state.

Given Ohio’s projected $8 billion budget shortfall, districts had anticipated the loss of federal stimulus funds and a drop in state aid. But they did not foresee dramatic cuts to the tangible personal-property tax and utility-tax reimbursements, which equal a $96 million loss over the next two years for central Ohio schools.

1. More voters remorse?
If I recall correctly, the central part of the state voted GOP last November.

They will never learn.

2. They got their property taxes lowered so why should they be upset.
The ones truly concerned about property taxes could give a shit about the local schools. They have theirs and if they have children I am fairly certain they are provided for either by private schools or the school system in their neighborhood is doing just fine thank you..As long as the money keeps going upward they are quite happy..

3. "Didn't see it coming"?
Given that the school boards in OH are just as conservative minded as the state gov. is, what did they think would happen when they put a corporate teabagger in charge.

4. If you're a republican the last thing you need is an education,
because you already think you know everything there is to know about everything. Glenn Beck is on every day with his little blackboard to take up the slack.
