Movies shape our thoughts and ideas more than we realize. Especially if the movie is about a time

and place outside our real life experience.

For example, I was born after WWII. I am sure my ideas about that war are much influenced by movies and TV.

I think “The Big Chill” gave a lot of people the idea that boomers all have mucho bucks. Especially those who are younger than boomers.
