"Shared Sacrifice" Means the Middle Class Pays for the Sins of the Wealthy
Let's be honest. Shared sacrifice means the middle class gets shit on by getting their Social Security benefits cut, while the wealthy get away scott free with even more tax breaks than before.

Please send this E-Card (http://www.ncpssm.org/sendcard/) to the "Gang of Six" Senators who are using the Bowles-Simpson proposals to come up with a deficit reduction package. This group, which includes Dick Durbin, Mark Warner, Saxby Chambliss, Mike Crapo, Kent Conrad, Tom Coburn (with perhaps the exception of Durbin) wants Social Security to be addressed. Let's be clear. They want to cut benefits, not raise the FICA tax cap. Social Security should have no place in deficit reduction proposals.

Here's a story about the "Gang of Six" http://www.npr.org/2011/03/07/134332981/as-deficit-looms-gang-of-six-seeks-compromise

Here's some analysis about how Bowles-Simpson proposals would cut Social Security: http://www.ncpssm.org/news/archive/Analysis_of_Commissions_Proposal/

2. Oh that's silly. Facts get in the way of tax breaks for their buddies.

4. It's sickening that the prez has adopted this bullshit - he should be pointing out...

...that poor and middle class citizens have been sacrificing for years and it's time for the wealthy to sacrifice - and for corporations like GE to pay their fair share.

Another case in which Republcans write the lies and the president and other "Dems" spread the lies for them.

5. Dems have to band together and take over this narrative. It's pretty clear
these massive tax giveaways have done nothing to boost the economy.

6. They don't band together because too many - including the prez - are complicit...
They don't disagree with Republicans policies regarding the wealthy and corporations.

Nothing will change until the people band together - Dems, Indies and Republicans - to oust corporate whores from both parties and really take back their gov't.

7. I can get on board with that. Gov't for the people, NOT Gov't for Corporations.

8. I've heard "el Rham-o", our new mayor, use that same term for Chicagoans.
God knows what he has in store for us. Especially for retirees of the City of Chicago.
