Oil wells?

Money?

Pavement?

I want to know what to call them... "________ huggers".

7. There is a dawn redwood in the alley....I will admit to having hugged it.
It is a fine tree. Very soft needles. I call it "Don Redwood".

12. In our family
we have two coastal redwoods and a sequoia. We just planted a baby maple in the front. They are Little Red (24 ft), Bob is 18 ft, Rita is 8 ft (and is a coastal redwood from Aptos but may be the largest ultimately). The maple is Leafy Fifi and is a foot and a half high, lacy, Japanese and lovely. We love our trees...they help us breathe. They even help stupid people who don't like trees to breathe. Too bad trees can't be selective about who gets to breathe their oxygen!

14. You all just cracked me up!!
I have trees in my yard but i've never named them! an oak, an ornamental cherry and this amazing dogwood that is the queen of the neighborhood. hmmmmmmm.... the dawn redwood I call "don" was always just kind of a joke. hmmmmm.... now i kind of want to name my trees!

21. It takes a discerning tree-hugger
to see a tree personality. Both of the coastal redwoods were once tiny living Christmas trees in my living room and now they shelter my house! It's hard not to love them ! :loveya:

18. Two of my trees have names
April and July. They were named for the months they were planted years ago but that's how we refer to them and they're part of the family. :-)

13. I like it up there but it's too grey and too cold!
Only the sequoia is native for here in the inland but the coastals do just fine.

I imagine they have a hard time getting hugs from human beings. That's all I'll say on the subject.

15. shit-huggers.
They enjoy smearing feces all over themselves, and blaming someone else for it, afterward.

19. Chainsaw, they hug their chainsaw.
And they love the sound it makes, and the smell of burning gas and oil, and the feel of it as it tears into the flesh of those pesky trees....the thrill of destruction.

I replied, "I'm a tree LOVER. Fine ash on that birch."
