And the Freepers abandon Glenn Beck...for Donald Trump
This is why Donnie went Birther, despite the fact that he knows it's a crock of crap.
It was the quick and easy way to become the hero of the wingnutters and get a foothold in the primary.
Or, if he doesn't run, he can cash in. He, no doubt, saw in Beck that there's a huge money-making opportunity in selling dumb ideas to stupid people.

Freeper samplings from from the thread "Glenn Beck: Donald Trump's making me 'uncomfortable'":

- "Do not make Glenn Beck uncomfortable, please. He might shatter into a million pieces."

- "Beck sits there all day long trying to shoehorn different, separate crisis around the world into one grand conspiracy, but the possibility of Obummer being a closet Muslim and the BC paperwork issue make him uncomfortable? This clown is just a BOR suck up and should be disregarded as a serious commentator. I thought I was to question everything with boldness, Glenn? I guess you don't follow that rule."

- "Mr Conspiracy Theory himself, relegated to food insurance and bomb shelter advertisers, thinks Trump’s gone off the deep end."

- "Beck has let his success go to his head. I can’t stand to listen to the guy anymore."

- "Shameful Beck should be admonished for this,Why is he protecting Obama and Soros?? Now I have a conspiracy theory!!"

- "Beck is jealous, pure and simple. Last year, he was getting all the attention but he’s gone way downhill."

- "Beck is the one who’s making me uncomfortable lately and seems to have gone off he deep end. I find Trump quite refreshing."

And my personal favorite - all of that Bible-thumping still couldn't keep Beck from losing his fickle wingnut flock to their newly-annointed messiah:

- "Me, myself, and I being “birthers”, I would say to Glenn, get over it, Trump is doing the Lord’s work; and, Beck, of all people, should realize that."

1. Donald Trump is not a particularly smart or gifted individual.
He got rich pissing away a lot of money that belonged to other people.

If he's good at anything, it's being a fucking asshole. Which means he fits in perfectly to the teabagger universe. I don't think he's acting.

2. Chris Hedges gave a great talk in which he explained why this type of switch happens.
Hedges has written about the Fundies, and other assorted members of the FARRRRRR Right, extremely interesting insight.

The talk might interest you.( The part about the fundies is towards the end, but the whole thing is fascinatng)

6. What is it with wing nuts and their love of business people who run their businesses in to the
ground? Every one of their hero's like Trump have a history of taking successful businesses and making them into failed businesses. Remember CEO Trump had an empire a few years back now he is playing a CEO on a reality TV show and they admire this loser, why? What is it with their belief that makes them believe that failed business people can make better decisions in government then they could in business, he ran a business so he is smart, ahhhhh no he ran a business into the ground you nit wit even a nit wit like you could manage that.

9. He's not looking to get a foothold in the primary.
He's looking to get a foothold in the ratings for his TV show. That's all this is about: TV ratings. And, yes, cashing in. The only thing Trump sees is dollar signs. He's an opportunist, so he's going after Beck's audience, because it's the mother lode of gullible, ignorant people. And, they're apparently starting to abandon Beck, so what better time to suck them into his fold? More stupid people to watch his crap show.

11. They are birthers, first and foremost. Refighting the Civil War over there, too.
Many claim it had absolutely nothing to do with slavery.

The few semi-sentient beings on that site beg to differ. Hard to believe.
