Along with the rabbit they have been polishing off, they are ferocious eaters!

1. Someone needs to do a youtube remix
First a tight shot showing the cute little babies chirping and being fed, with some lullaby music playing softly in the background.

Then as the camera pulls out, you start to see the surrounding carnage, dead birds pulled apart, a rabbit, the fish, etc -- and put that horror flick music.

C'mon someone, do it!

11. I saw the one go to sleep but the other seemed to be slighted..and was almost saying
with body language...what..you are eating MY SHIT...that is supposed to be MY FOOD...and he/she sorta stands up....wings spread out...to dare the parent to eat the last vestige...which the parent does..then settles down on the brood.

14. It has GOT to be getting a little ripe up there
I'm expecting them to bring a cow soon, just so'as they'll have all their bases covered. I wonder if they do this variety so that the babies get a taste of various foods early so they don't become picky eaters?

to get a taste for."

Makes sense. All food sources considered.

in that crow that the male brought back.

"Who's gonna eat crow now, hmmmmm?"

edit: or actually, it's probably his way of apologizing for almost tossing firstborn out of the nest earlier. His way of telling mamma "Yeah, I ate crow, here's the proof."

17. I am watching with my cat Popcorn.
He just told me he likes this better than Phoebe (hummer) and Molly (owl) because the sound is better.

He just asked me to put this up on the 42" screen. Told him to get his own computer and tv.

25. Understood. We lost a beautiful but dumb Persian cat to SOMETHING in the back yard.
Might have been a coyote or something (we don't live in eagle country), and it was interrupted, so the little evicerated carcass was left in the backyard for us to find. OY. I remember hoping that it had been quick, at least. They're wild. My sympathies. It's a wild world out there. And sometimes it draws blood. Beautiful. But also deadly.

26. A friend of mine lives on a golf course in Phoenix.
A tree with a Golden Eagle nest in it blew over into his backyard.

There were over 100 collars (dog/cat) in the nest.
