Paul Ryan on MSNBC now selling his snake oil; what a lying sack of shit!
This man is incredible. How can he say this stuff without his pants bursting into flames? My favorite was how his decimation of the social safety net would actually HELP Americans by making them self-sufficient, getting them off welfare so they can go to school and find good jobs. WTF?! How do these people sleep at night? Oh, they already have all our money...they simply don't care

1. So Ryan thinks everyone on Social Security is a freeloader?
I wonder where these "good jobs" are? The sad part is, about 30 percent of our ignorant population...including many in the media will just nod their heads and agree.

5. Joe was beside himself with glee.
The other panelists, not so much. Yet not one of them bothered to ask Ryan any serious questions, such as how all these unemployed people with no child care, no Pell grants, no schools, were going to get to go to school because the rich get more tax breaks. Pathetic.

2. He also 'shared' his plan's creation with several Dems (Bob Kerry
and I think two others); guess he doesn't want all the 'glory' when everyone points out what a 'FAIL' the plan is.

3. He was on CBS, too.
And, the Toady Show, as well. I turned it off. I'm just going to wait until his "vouchers for Medicare" plan is disseminated. I don't want to be anywhere near a fan when that happens, because the shit's going to flying. Can you say "political suicide"?

16. Oh, for sure but...
This time, it hits them in the pocketbook. The ADD tends to go away when that happens. It's only when they are affected that they pay attention. See: Wisconsin.

The pundits will fawn and fall all over themselves blah blah . We've seen it before. Propaganda will hit a fever pitch of how serious and courageous he is for proposing etc etc. It will be depressing to lose again. I wish you were right. I'm all for moving to Canada.

6. They Know A Mark When They See One...
TPM had a great primer on the Luntz-speak these goons will be using to convince people that Social Security and Medicare should be privatized. And the corporate media will gladly let them spew the double-speak and lies. They're doubling down on a meme I've seen and heard even heard Democrats use..."Social Security won't be around by the time I retire".

Destroying these two programs are the GOTB's wet dream and one that I fear Democrats don't realize and may just help them accomplish. It's all about greed and power. It's amplifying the theme of the times "I've Got Mine...Screw You" and "You're On Your Own".

One would hope that this is yet another over reach and truly exposes the rushpublicans long time agenda in its rawest form...

9. It's How Voting Against Your Interests Work...
This has become a very selfish country...everybody wants theirs and totally dismisses what others say or think. Politics is now a bloodsport and the concept of compromise or even honest debate is virtually impossible.

You are right...the only way people pay attention is when you scare the shit out of 'em...and then in the confusion you can sell them almost anything.

will get his ass unelected. He's always been batshit, but unfortunately money can buy a lot of cover in districts with nothing but crappy corporatist M$M.

11. Good advice
My employer recently decided to cease manufacturing operations and "buy everything on the outside". I was the first walked out last Thursday at 7:30 AM!

This probably would not have happened if I had been working harder during my seven month tenure at this place! A recent stat that sticks with me about this "great recession" is that there are an average of six applicants for every job out there. The five out of six that don't get it better study harder next time, if they get a next time.

I'll be fine. I have a lot of possibilities.

Actually, I'm pretty hopeful on possible opportunities. I'm in CNC manufacturing and there's still a lot of that going on in Connecticut. Plus I had a practice run being unemployed from Feb 09 to Aug 2010!

House is paid for, no long term debt. Property taxes, food and utilities are easier to handle w/o house and car and boat and student loan payments!

But, I do have a lot of empathy for so many of my fellow Americans suffering in this unjust and selfish economy. WE ALL HAVE TO STICK TOGETHER AND HELP EACH OTHER OUT in times like these. Relearn what real humanity and happiness is all about.

One of the ironies of this current Great Depression level of wealth concentration is that those greedy sociopaths are less happy than an average American. They are spiritually and morally bankrupt. How can such a person possibly experience "happiness" knowing the misery they wreak upon millions? Someone is such a position is a monster, not a fellow human being!

33. You have a great attitude
Feb 09 to Aug 2010 is an awfully long "practice run", but got a chuckle out of me.

As I get older, I find myself wondering what on earth do the very wealthy get from all that wealth? I can understand possibly wanting "more", but how much is enough? And how far would one go to get it? Obviously they'd "can't take it with them". I'm usually pretty good at putting myself in someone else's shoes, but can't quite fit inside that kind of mind. The best I've been able to come up with is comparing it to playing a game where the money isn't real anymore and winning is all that matters.

12. So, by Ryan's "logic"
If we confiscate the fabulous fortunes that a few folks have looted from our great system, that should give them the impetus to amass another fortune. Take the ill-gotten gains of, let us just say, the Bush Crime Family, and we'll unleash the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the current crop of Bush family folks to create another fortune! Think of how inspiring that will be to all of America. You want America to be inspired, don't you Mr. Ryan?

Now it's only the Obama Tax Increase. Bush? Who is that? Wasn't he a president guy once? Everything bad is Obama's fault, don't you know.

The president was not going to cut off millions from their money
and went along w/ the republicans.

26. I actually heard one of the Repubs admit that on MSNBC this morning.
I don't know who the GOP guest was, but when asked about Social Security he admitted that, no, SS isn't causing any current strain on our fiscal situation...but if we don't do something someday it surely will!

So instead of dealing with the real drivers of the deficit, defense spending and a ridiculous tax structure, these ass-clowns are peddling the idea that it is welfare queens, college students, single mothers and abortionists who have caused all our misery. And you know what? The media will sell it for them.

24. ...just like lil' Paulie pulled himself up by his own bootstraps, with no help from anybody, I guess
...between his sophomore and junior year, his father died (Ryan was just 16). His father's death provided Ryan with Social Security benefits until his 18th birthday... (italics mine)
"I got mine, you peons can just go do whatever it is you peons do..."
After graduating from college, Ryan worked as a marketing consultant for his family's Janesville-based business, Ryan Inc., a construction firm founded by his great-grandfather in 1884...
"My great-grandfather was smart enough to start his own successful business. I don't understand why you peons weren't as smart as I was in choosing the family I was born into." http://usconservatives.about.com/od/champions/p/PaulRyanBIO.htm

Born on third base and thought he hit a triple. From the Kooks to the *'s it seems to be a common theme with these people. Freeloaders, one and all.

31. With Ryan's plan I only have one question
why is there any government spending? He already gets rid of all the things good the government does for the American people, why not dump the rest of the crap too. I'll tell you why Ryan doesn't have the guts to really cut the budget :)

It's funny but in the up your crazy world of the Republican party just wait, someone will take the next step and suggest a budget that is even more crazy. Ryan's budget will then become their more sound solution. :puke:
