Wisconsin's election win is a real win for all of us
I'm beginning to see Wisconsin as the Flagship and I'm beginning to see that we're at war.

5. And it is also a warning. The other side will come out in droves if
they think we are going to come out. It is going to be a battle to get enough voters out in 2012 because they will have their out there if they have to pay them.

6. Huh, imagine that!
Wisconsin's progressive segment turned out on behalf of public employees. The Senate Democrats hung in there, and stayed true to their principles in the face of withering criticism. And the first opportunity that presented itself for folks to express themselves in an election, a multi-term incumbent gets turned out in an off-year by-election.

What turned the tide? Was it crafty triangulation? Subtle self-negotiations in which we gave away the store before sitting down at the bargaining table? A relentless pursuit of bipartisanship?

Or was it standing on principle, siding with working folks in a no-nonsense, unapologetic stand for what's right and good?

This result will no doubt puzzle the finest political minds on the Democratic side of the Beltway for days.
