I was listening with the husband to Eliot Spitzer's show on CNN right now, and he was commenting on the proposed Republican budget (Ryan's 2012 proposed budget) with its enormous slashes to Medicaid of 800 billion (not to mention the slashes to Medicare as well). As Spitzter commented, all of the burden falls on the elderly and poor. He said that the amount of the proposed slash is the same as the revenue lost due to extending the Bush tax cuts to the richest Americans over the next ten years. Basically, the Ryan budget makes up for the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy by screwing the poor and elderly. Of course I shouldn't be surprised, but this blatant abuse of the poor and elderly by the Republicans, with the very clear favoritism of the rich, just amazes me. Will voters remember all of this next year?
Top 1 percent had a huge tax cut last year. They control 40 percent of the wealth. According to the president of the Tea Party (now on CNN), to mention this means that we are waging class warfare.
