What incentive dose Congress have to get a budget deal done?

Congress has agreed not to take paychecks during a shutdown. I could be wrong and it may just be Democratic congress members.

But Loretta Sanchez was on one of the MSNBC talky news things earlier today and said Congress has agreed not to take paychecks if the govt. were to shut down. I guess she was wrong?

6. Not being voted out of office if the electorate is pissed by a shutdown.

It happened in 1996.

Might not happen now if:
1) the electorate doesn't blame the true perpetrators;
2) voter suppression efforts keep a lot of the pissed electorate from being part of the electorate; or
3) voting machines don't reflect actual votes.
