Wisconsin Republican County Clerk Sent Out Pre Marked Ballots

Wisconsin Republican County Clerk Sent Out Pre Marked Ballots

"Back in 2005, Ms. Nickolaus was found to have sent out “sample ballots” to the voters. The problem was these ballots were already marked for a specific candidate."

As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,

"Sample ballots printed for Waukesha County executive special election give voted unintended advice: who to vote for. Published in several newspapers this week (October 14th,2005) sample ballots promoting Tuesday’s contest between James Dwyer and Dan Vrakas include a mark signaling a vote for Dwyer.

The red-faced county clerk Kathy Nickolaus said, the gaffe occurred when her office sent some newspapers the same sample ballots that had been marked to test the voting machines. “It was human error” she said…. The tainted sample ballots are being published in newspapers in Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Mukwanago and Sussex. Along with both candidates’ names and detailed instruction on how to complete a ballot, there it is — a hand drawn solid line designating a vote for Dwyer."

"This woman is obviously very prone to human error, that is the same, lame excuse she used for this current gaffe."

2. Yes but a Brookfield political reporter confirms Nickolaus's story
She is actually the Political reporter for the RW rag and hangs it with Nickolaus but once they had a Bunko party and there was a Democrat invited.

17. Could you please re-state this in something closer to standard English?
I'm old and feeble and can't get a grip on what you're saying here

19. Yea and a "Democrat" devised the butterfly ballot in West Palm Beach
FL in 2000. You know the one that had Pat Buchanan's name right below Bush's but on the right side of the ballot so voting for Buchanan seemed like you were voting for Gore.

That "Democrat"?

3. Something happened here about twenty years ago that
made the local Democrats angry. I was not involved at the county level yet, but I knew the chairman well.

The schools in my community asked for sample ballots, because a Social Studies teacher wanted to use them in some lessons. The primary was coming up. The ballots sent were the Republican party primary ballots. That was all. Not a Democratic candidate in sight. The chairman found out and went to the courthouse to track down the "oversight." She was nice about it, too.

I think we all know people like this clerk. They do things like this repeatedly, then apologize profusely. People accept that they are just mistake prone. But enough is enough. An entire state supreme court is resting on this "mistake." Whether the court is conservative, liberal or balanced depends on this woman's "mistake." The future direction of the state of Wisconsin could depend on this error prone woman.

6. Has she ever once made an "error" in favor of a Democrat or liberal?
And if not, what would be the odds?

10. the marks favored the NON-Republican!!!!
http://graphics2.jsonline.com/graphics/news/img/oct05/WEXEC.pdf

check their bios and platforms.....

Dwyer is a declared non-partisan,wants to spend money and takes positions clearly more liberal than the conservative REPUBLICAN Vrakas.

Actually, i doubt very much a declared democrat could win in this county.

She had no business sending them out, but she did have business marking them.
