Flight of the Golden Geese: are the elite on the run?
They aren't satisfied to be ex-pats. They're buying citizenship in "safe" countries to avoid paying for the services they expect the government (slaves) to provide for free.

http://www.flightofthegoldengeese.com/

"Wealthy foreigners and highly paid executives were enticed to buy property in many gulf countries with an implied or even explicit promise of automatic permanent residence. When this promise was not fulfilled and the property market turned sour, they quickly discovered that they had few rights relating to the property and that debt default was actually a criminal offence. When this reality is combined with the economic turmoil of current or anticipated protests and disruptions, the decision to leave their new Middle East home has become a surety. However, many are reluctant to return to their high tax home country. As a result, they have retained my firm to help them locate the next oasis which balances lifestyle, business opportunity, security and reasonable taxation."

So they intend to default on their underwater properties, have suddenly discovered that will be a criminal offense (unlike the US, where they would simply be put in "open air" prisons or, more likely as the elite, would have *their* mortgages crammed down while the rest of us enjoy "open air" prisons), and need a new place to live the lifestyle they've become accustomed to delivered by the near-starving losers that they fear in their current countries.

1. The world will not be safe until they have NO resting place.
They are fouling the nest and we the world can no longer tolerate their existence.

7. I don't really mind the greedy bastards living in fear.
And I adore that they feel the teensiest bit insecure in those mansions by the nuke plants.

Where can they go that they have not already fouled?

Pity they couldn't bring themselves to pay taxes in North America to keep the air and water clean and develop safe energy. If they had, none of this would be necessary, would it?

12. These folks have earned all the uncertainty and paranoia that they are feeling
The only thing I don't like about this article, is the notion of them as golden geese. They aren't laying any golden eggs, they're more like gold eating vultures. Swooping in to gobble up all the gold, before dropping a steaming load and flying off to find their next meal..

16. it's a faux article, written by the owner of the website
who is a lawyer. It is his business website. The "golden geese" are his clients. I guess he didn't think referring to prospects as "gold-eating vultures," however factual, would lure much new business and might tick off his existing clients!

17. I don't think they ...
.. are in fear nearly enough. Given the situations that far too many of us face just to survive and eek out a bare existence, they should understand that the tipping point is fast approaching where those with nothing left to lose, will start acting like it.
