When did the Republicans get religion on spending and deficits?
Obviously, after they screwed up so badly, and they admit it, they have now seen the error of their ways. They will no longer run up huge deficits or spend us into unbearable debt. They promise. They have seen the light.

They still believe that cutting taxes will create more jobs and will not drive up the deficit, contrary to all evidence in the last 30 years? What have they really learned? Absolutely nothing, except that the people can be fooled over and over again with the same old trick.

3. Republicans have always been about fiscal responsibility.
Except when they are the ones doing the spending.

4. I'm guessing they got religion when they started dismantling
the social safety net Roosevelt signed into law.

They're looking to privatize everything including Medicare and Social Security.

6. They will always believe in "trickle down economics".
Its just amazing how some stupid people still think that conservative economics works for the average joe in America.

7. Yeah I love it. RepubliCONS got religion on deficits right after they ran up the largest deficit
in history.

There are 3 reasons for our deficit.

Wars

Tax give aways to the corporate aristocracy and the uber rich

The 2nd RepubliCON Great Depression, or the Great Recession as the corporate media likes to downplay it.

Fixing or stopping any one of those would greatly reduce the deficit.

8. They only worry about that when they are out of power.
As soon as they can, they will destroy this government and turn this country into an oligarchy.

10. You assume that they are interested in learning something.
To them, all that matters is ideology, not results. Facts and evidence do not matter.

And their focus on the deficit only exists when they are out of power. When they are in power, deficits don't matter anymore.

11. They have always been religious about spending and deficits, when these were related to public
services, or helping poor people.

Spending and deficits were generally fine with them when it came to wars, the arms race, or helping rich people.
