"It is hard to imagine a more dangerous breach of trust by a public corporation"
That is the headline of a most awesome editorial in the Guardian this Sunday. And, of course, we are talking about Rupert Murdoch's Newscorp...and, on this side of the pond, FOX News.

2. It is naive to trust any corporation, ever.
They all need to be tightly regulated.

3. May be hard to imagine,
but I would bet that the sleezeball is already guilty of even "more dangerous breach(es) of trust".

6. Follow the sell outs. That's what I figure.
I figure they use the info two ways:

1. They write a story about it and PUBLISH the story then use the stolen information to put the person under stress or to run them from office. They were hacking the phones of friends and family as well so not only does the person have their personal messages aired, they also become convinced that the people closest to them are selling stories.

2. They write the story and don't publish it...but let the person see it or know about it. AND Murdoch's papers were not only hacking their enemies but also their friends. Why would a perfectly nice middle of the road conservative suddenly go rabid and turn super right wing?? Maybe because someone has left them some messages that show they are having an affair? or went to a sex club? (as happened to a scottish politician) Just the simple fact the press knew where and when to be lurking to get a good photo to blackmail with later.

It all stinks no matter how you look at it. But the lucky part is, they started to think they ruled the world and they got sloppy.

10. I hope the British judicial system stays on this...
and all of their crimes come to light. If nothing else, I the BSkyB merger will fall through and that is a blow to Murdoch since I think it will be the first time that anyone has stopped him from buying or acqiring a media outlet that he wanted,

I hope this will be the beginning of the end for newscorp.
