It's very good to see the new Obama 2012 ad at the top
of the left sidebar on DU. I hope it reminds us all of what's at stake in 2012.

1. Very good to see!
I'm in. This will be worth the effort to keep President Obama at the helm. He has done so much good, it needs to continue.

5. Agreed!
The stakes in 2012 are very high. We've all got to swallow some disappointment and recover from our 2010 losses.

20. What are the High Stakes?
Supreme Court? do you honestly believe Obama will appoint anyone the Republicans will not vote for? Will Obama fight with the Republicans over anything at all besides how much to cut?

24. He already has. You're just not paying attention.
And then there's the chance that we might reverse the 2010 disaster if we actually turn out in huge numbers. That's my hope.

But, you may do as you please, of course.

2. The very fact he has to advertise to Democrats is a bad sign. He is in trouble.

16. You must be kidding. 113% of the liberalist democrats ever support Obama.
and that number goes up to 357% when the poll question mentions scary republican boogey men like Sarah Palin.

7. Ignore the rec/unrec stuff.
What's important is the number of people who read, even if they don't post or click.

I gave up considering the number of recs a long time ago. They just don't matter.

13. So are Boehner and the right-wingers.
They remind us every day of what we might face in 2013. Worth thinking about, I believe.

18. I will NOT vote for that corporatist liar unless Palin is the nominee
And no, nothing is at stake when both candidates work for the same power elite.

19. The knife in back is enough of a reminder
I don't need emails or banner ads to remind that there is no way in hell Obama is going to be re-elected.

23. Actually, it is almost certain that he will be re-elected.
I'm just hoping we can shed some of the teabaggers who got elected in 2010, so I'm hoping for a big turnout. Since you've already made up your mind, I guess you're irrelevant to this. Good luck with all that.

25. Ha!
I suggest you reference the midterms 0f 2010 with your hallucinations of a big turnout. The demoralization will be even greater and the turnout even lower. Today, Obama put the first shovelful of dirt onto the grave of his re-election campaign by putting "entitlements" on the table. So in addition to alienating union workers, teachers, the GLBT, the peacniks, we can now add senior citizens with cuts to medicare and ss on the table. I can not in good conscience support someone who betrays these constituencies simply because he is a "Democrat". This is not a football game. I really believe Obama doesn't want to be re-elected-- at least not as a Democrat!

The American people do not elect weak presidents. They will elect strong, mean, idiots over pleasant, smart and friendly every time. The harder the times, the bigger the SOB we will elect.

I don't want a Republican elected, but I see the nation going the way Wisconsin has. Reduced turnout leading to the election of a neo-fascist that will make us all cry about the good old days of Obama. It will lead to mass demonstrations and civil unrest. Obama has proven to be a caretaker not an instrument of change.

Nature abhors a vacuum while continually implementing change. Since Obama refuses to be that agent of change, someone else will institute it, for better or worse.
