I would love to sell Obama a car.
I'll tell him the price I want, he'll tell me the price he thinks is fair, then we'll meet halfway.

1. But if you hold out and make some demands, you might get him to move even closer to your original
price.

6. I would love to sell you a car.
Obama's not negotiating on his own behalf.

He's negotiating as poorly as possible on OUR behalf, to get the best deal for his side. His trick is in convincing us that he's doing his best on our behalf. No, he's doing his worst on THEIR behalf.

8. He'd probably make an initital offer higher than the sticker price
Without even asking you YOUR price. Just like he did with offshore drilling.

9. "I'm going to offer you $1,500 for that car, but I am willing to pay $10,000."
"Well, I couldn't possibly take less than $10,000 for this car."
