I'm not sure how to research this. Two questions.......
How much have the Bush tax cuts cost the Treasury? And 2) How much has been spent on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid SINCE the Bush tax cuts went into effect?

1. My first guess with be check the General Accounting Office website ...
they would/should have the stats you're looking for. Another would be the Congressional Budget Office.

3. First question is speculative
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 03:28 PM by econoclast
If someone is being intellectually honest ... there is no way to know. Since we can't go back and re-run history with the Clinton tax rates intact .... anything someone comes up with is speculative. Like the most recent stimulus packages, some folks think the tax cuts made GDP better than it otherwise would have been. Others think they made GDP worse than it would have been.

Actual data from the IRS for those years:

5. How much have the Bush tax cuts cost the global economy?
Did the economy crash because of the capital infusion without controls? What if the tax cuts, like all major tax cuts before in history, had been contigent on investment in the US economy or some productive good, like hiring workers?
