J.Crew ad stirs up controversy with pink nail polish
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 06:35 PM by rpannier
Let’s see if you can figure out what has sparked the mini-controversy:

snip

. The photo shows Lyons smiling and holding Beckett’s feet, which are painted in pink Essie for J.CREW nail polish, and has Lyons’ quote, “Lucky for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink.”

Writes CMI’s Erin R. Brown:
J.CREW, known for its tasteful and modest clothing, apparently does not mind exploiting Beckett behind the façade of liberal, transgendered identity politics. One has to wonder what young boys in pink nail polish has to do with selling women's clothing.

snip:

Propaganda pushing the celebration of gender-confused boys wanting to dress and act like girls is a growing trend, seeping into mainstream culture. NBC's Today show on January 3 featured a segment on the 'Princess Boy' in which five-year-old Dyson Kilodavis was seen twirling in pink ballerina tutu, much to the delight of his mother Cheryl and host Meredith Vieira.

The comment by this guy is priceless:
This is what is wrong with society today. Will it be ok when he's 15 and confused about his gender then? If we teach our children that this kind of behavior is okay when they are this age then we are setting them up for failure later.in life and eventually a place in He'll because of it!
**** He means Hell, not He'll*****
I gues he'd have been okay with burning Joan of Arc because she was wearing men's clothes

1. technically at 5 a boy and girl are the same except the private parts....
and i am sure a 5 year old boy won't be gay or confused if he is dressed in pink or a tutu. give me a break!! i think that commenter has already had a place set up for him in hell... judging others.... i thought that was bad.

Kids play around like this, "cross" dress, wear costumes, play roles. It is normal, fer gawd's sakes. :eyes:

3. Do these people have palpitations when
boys wear the breast-cancer awareness t-shirt that says "Real boys wear pink"? Probably. Howzabout we stop making gender-specific colors and dressup play such a big deal? :banghead:
