I finally met someone who gets that call for austerity.
The Republicans keep preaching austerity and shared sacrifice. They want us all to make sacrifices for the good of the country.

I met a homeless man sitting on a park bench today. He gets it. He has made all those cuts that we are being asked to make. He is living it. He is not wasting money on a home, he sleeps in the street. He is not frivolously spending money on fancy food, he eats out of a dumpster. He is no longer whining about the cost of health care, he doesn't have any. His clothes budget is nil. Now this man, he gets it.

This is where we all will be if we allow this attitude of austerity and tightening OUR belts and sacrifice and bootstraps to continue.

1. Not all of us. Those of us lucky and young and strong enough to do the heavy lifting

will be employed at slave wages in the sweat shops to service the needs of the 1%.

The rest of us will beg for their scraps.

10. the question is, how much the American people will take before enough is enough.

The wild success of the most obvious pro-corporate, anti-worker/anti-human propaganda/brainwashing in this country is beyond comprehension.

11. I honestly kept thinking to myself with each revelation
The Downing Street Memos...I thought, ALRIGHT! THIS will get them off their asses. But it didn't.

And a thousand times since...something would come out that would shake the rafters and PROVE what we have been saying all along. But yet, each time it is justified. Each time more people drink a little bit more of the Kool Aid.

I really don't think that people are going to get off their asses and fight this. I really don't.

When we are living in the times of Dickens, a few might admit that they were wrong--however, I don't expect that many will do it even then.
