This has been going on for decades....now that people are paying attention they act like President Obama created some of these practices..

Social Security and Medicare and Social Security Disability Trust Funds are accounting designators. They are not cash!

There is no way Obama or Congress or anyone can "raid" those Trust Funds for any reason.

Monies collected are posted as inputs to the funds and then invested in Securities or paid out to recipients. When those securities are redeemed the cash becomes part of the Treasury cash balances.

seem meant to generate anti-Obama comments rather than to generate a discussion of a policy question.

A "What if DK...(does something terrible)?" would seem more intended to discuss DK's integrity and policies rather than the "something terrible" that he hypothetically might do. The same with a ""What if Bernie...(does something terrible)?"

6. I didn't vote in this poll...but I'm starting to have grave reservations as a Democrat

as to where this is all going. I will wait a bit to see where it's going and what President Obama will do with Simpson-Bowles and the RW Proposal by Ryan.....but...It's too early for me to vote in a poll.

I'm figuring if we Dems PUSH BACK HARD...maybe President Obama will FINALLY get the MESSAGE..that he's LOSING FOLKS...Lifelong Dems and New DEMS who worked so hard for him.

I'm going to give him a few more months to see.
