Bank customers can expect new fees for using ATMs, talking to tellers, transferring money
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Pamela Huth of Russell Township was more than a little miffed last week when she discovered a $10 fee on her PNC Bank statement that she'd never seen before -- a fee just for having an ATM card.

She could have avoided the extra charge by getting a debit card with a Visa logo, but Huth didn't want to for security reasons.

The 20-year customer of the former National City Bank, now PNC, Huth said she'll pay the $10-a-year fee, but "if I start noticing other fees," then she might consider switching banks.

1. I had a bank charging me fees because I had so little activity on it.
When they refused to remove the fee. I moved my account.

I would never put up with crap like this from a bank.

There are many ways around it and the final step is move the account.

5. I quit using ATMs over 20 yrs ago
I watch my pennies, and I don't pay fees. My ATM is a large safe bolted to the cement floor in my house. It contains my handguns (inherited), a small coin collection and some cash I keep on hand so I don't have to use ATMs. I do my banking at a credit union, and have since the eighties. Why would you put money in a bank where they are more likely to take your money, via fees, than a robber? Stop making banksters rich.

7. I once had a bank make an error in a transaction and
then charged me postage for notifying me about it. Now my bank is a credit union.

9. well, they ARE letting you use your money...
you think they should do that for free?

I kid, of course. But really, people have forgotten who the customer is. banks make money just by having your money sitting there. then they make more money if you try to use your money - which they act like is their money because they've been using it.

it's insane not to be in a Credit Union at this point.
