I think it protects the people to whom the food stamps were issued.

2. For a legitimate reason, I expect.
I've been in line more than once with someone carrying a stack of cards they'd traded for drugs.

'Course I'm in DC. That could NEVER happen in IL.

4. Hey, if Costco can do it, why not?
The cards are "re-loaded" anyway, so why not give these people a proof-positive ID...Many people do not have much in the way of ID, so this could be a blessing for them.., and it would remove another level of possible fraud if people get their cards stolen.

8. This could be very helpful to any number of vulnerable persons/populations.
It could help reduce theft, coercion, manipulative or abusive caretakers and significant others, etc.

Ensuring that the people who need the benefit are the ones who are at the very least doing the shopping for them seems like a worthy investment.

9. I do not know how I feel about this as I get food stamps. I do know why
they want it. Food stamps sell at fifty cents on the dollar. They would have a problem with some cards. I am a senior and I put my daughters name on my application as a secondary buyer so that she can pick things up for me. A lot of people do that so what are they going to do - two pics per card?

11. I was on foodstamps at one time too.
And I am now a caretaker for my mom. Perhaps a client such as yourself could designate an authorized buyer and they could instead check that persons driver's license/state ID card.
