Dennis Kunich being phased out?!
I just saw this on the Daily Show and they say his district may be removed. I swear if we lose Kunich I'm going to lose it. He is one of the few who really represent the People.

1. I've heard that a few times -- and I'm sure his district is being intentionally targeted. nt

old footage
That was old footage of Cleveland's reaction to LeBron James leaving for Miami. The joke was Kucinich on a "decision" show mocking the same show that LeBron held to announce his move to Miami.

Look at his wife, fer crissakes! He must have something!

He really went along with the skit on TDS... funny. Everybody should see it when it's available.

Seriously, I know he could never be elected to the WH, but he says shit that needs to be said.

34. look, I like dennis and hope he keeps his seat, but it's ridiculous
to think of him as a viable candidate beyond the House. And thinking of him as a savior is just silly.

17. This man is amazing. How in the hell was he not the Democratic
nominee and already in the White House? What a concept. A man who is outspoken, direct, to the point and WILL NOT back down from what he believes, and WILL FIGHT FOR the poor and middle class. If only we had some one like that in the WH now. Oh well I can dream.

18. 2016! We need him.
We have to pressure the corporate media to allow him in debates, unlike NBC did in Nevada. He is really one of the few on our side.

22. I'm all for it. My only fear is that the democratic establisment
would strike against him hard if he lost, and would try to make sure he never got elected to any office again. I'd hate to lose him.

9. I'm afraid it's not a joke.
This is the year for redistricting, and the Republicans are in charge in Ohio...

He is a target.

However, he has been in politics for a very long time, and he's smart.

I hope he'll be OK too...

13. A good friend of mine from Dennis' district says he won't.
I'm not sure why, though.

He may be too liberal for the rest of the state.

I'd like to see him do it, and win. It would be great for Ohio!

Letter from Dennis Kucinich: My Congressional District May Be Eliminated

Due to the new census figures, Ohio will lose two seats in Congress. The Ohio Legislature (Republican) will redraw the map with 16 instead of 18 districts for the 2012 Election.

Speculation nationally, and more importantly, in Ohio is that my district may be eliminated, absorbed into parts of other districts. Keep in mind, given the early Ohio primary, the filing deadline could be only a year away.

You have helped to make possible my presence in the Congress through seven terms, and carried me through some hotly contested elections.

I am very grateful for your continued support. I am also very grateful to the people of Ohio's 10th District for the privilege of serving.

Yet, in light of the strong chance that my district may be eliminated, my continued presence in Congress, to work for everything we care about, will obviously call for a much different strategy. I will not wait until a new Ohio map is produced to begin this crucial discussion of the consequences of congressional redistricting.

I will not wait until the Ohio Legislature produces a new map to start thinking of the options. The question will not be: Who is my opponent? The question will be: Where is my district? Seriously.

We are going to have to prepare for a different kind of election, possibly in a different place because my district may be eliminated. We are going to have to organize in a different way, now. The question will remain: Where?

This discussion is consequential. Please participate by providing your insight and advice advice@kucinich.us

I will be in contact with you.

Facing the New Year with the usual unsinkable optimism, and wishing you the best New Year ever, I am, yours,

Dennis

28. Of course it is
You see, contrary to the whole south/north thing, the new Cvil war is rural vs city, and Ohio wants to strangle Cleveland and any city that leans left..Of course, this is why I want to see Dennis run for either the senate or Governor.

out of existence and force him into a primary against another Dem. Most likely either Marcia Fudge or Betty Sutton.
