5. The text in the article agrees with me ....
"Fifty-one percent of 400 Republican primary voters surveyed nationwide by Public Policy Polling said they ascribe to the controversial birther conspiracy theory — despite the fact that the state of Hawaii has posted Obama’s certificate of live birth."

It says PRIMARY voters.

Primary voters, whether GOP, or Dem, tend to be more to the right, or left, respectively, than the other members of their party.

2. The world is flat
imagery I believe was an experiment how far they could go in making their faithful believe in nonsense through their lack of comprehension about metaphors. The attempt failed over their pan-shaped heads- over the edge into the abyss.

A flat piece of paper to be created out of the imagination of RW Talking Points Inc., now that was something they could cling too as they themselves dive, lie lemmings, over the flat edges of their fantasy reality into the sea.

3. Their base is nuts
Our base might be unhappy, unrealistic, or angry, but their base is bonkers. I don't know how long they can remain a viable party with a huge insane voting bloc. Or even if this country can remain politically viable. We are already seeing the effects of an entire party devoted to the destruction of the government in which it serves.
