New Taxpayer Receipt - Find out how much you personally paid for war social programs last year

Beginning today, taxpayers can go to a new interactive site -- whitehouse.gov/taxreceipt -- and plug in either the amount they paid in taxes this year or their annual income and see exactly how their tax dollars are divvied up.

A "receipt" will show how much is going to Social Security and Medicare and how income tax is divided between national defense, health care, jobs programs, education, veterans benefits, the environment, agriculture and more.

I did mine and you can 'click' on the + signs to get more details in each category. I paid 26.3% of my federal income tax to 'national defense' with $3967.09. Social programs only got 21.9% and paying for Medicaid and Medicare's drug program took another 24.3%.

I would prefer that more than 2.8% go toward Elementary, Secondary, and Vocational Education.
