Why I think extra security for air transportation is not a good investment
We've had one major terrorist attack with airplanes, three flights out of however many thousands upon thousands of flights there have been. If we were to pull all the post 2001 security and accept a certain amount of terrorist attacks by airplane the effect on the economy would be no where near what it was in 2001. Yes, we would still have to protect infrastructure but air crashes would lose their punch to our economy after awhile.

2. don't forget
Even with pre 9/11 security all they could get on-board the planes were some key chain fob box cutters with 1 inch of blade. IF the flight crew had been allowed to ask the passengers for help before the pilots cabin was breached that hijack would have been over in a hot minute with no more casualties than maybe a few stitches.
My question is, why has that policy NOT BEEN CHANGED?

8. OK..how about United Airlines Flight 93

If the passengers had been able to act before the hijackers took control of the cockpit they might not have needed to die but in fact, they DID prevent the airliner from being used in an attack. How's that for the proof you seem to need for an obvious, common sense thought?

11. If it was "in the news for weeks at the time"...
then you should have no problem proving it.

Here's an evidence photo from the Moussaoui trial.
