Golly, who would ever think that two Texas oil men would launch a war just for oil? It's just sooooo naive!

At least, that's what I was told back in 2003 when we had thousands of people marching in the streets to protest the imminent invasion of Iraq. The local paper just thought it was the silliest thing they'd ever heard of. Since then, the Oregonian has wised up a smidgen, but they've never issued an apology or a retraction for the hatchet job they did on citizens back in the day. They even went so far as to hire an aerial photographer to shoot pictures of the march and dispute the numbers the organizers said were demonstrating. The fact that so many citizens turned out on a lousy winter day to voice their displeasure at the contemplated war was entirely discounted.

The world had to be made safe for $40 billion quarterly profits!
