What is an Obama Basher?
Is it someone who thinks Obama has done no good whatsoever?

Is it someone who thinks Obama has done good and bad things?

Is it someone who disagrees slightly?

there are people here and elsewhere that seem to hate Obama no matter what he does but I can't really tell if they are true DUer's or if they are from that other place.

4. No one ( on this site) thinks A.
So the he answer is: either B or C.

Or both.

5. Bashing for bashings' sake; a predetermined absolutist conclusions that drive imbalanced
and partial analysis based on huge assumptions derived from significantly limited information. Negativism in service to various other emotional, political, psychological and other issues, rather than in authentic service to the empirically valid truths that we need for solutions.

Not that it is even possible to avoid all of the traits above, but more that it would be more helpful if people (MYSELF included) would recognize what they are doing and admit those facts up front. That kind of honesty is the starting point for real discouse, *IF* that's what people actually want (and not something else).

words, so everything gets crammed together with lots of modifiers and conditions. I have a thing about completeness. Get's pretty pedantic, I know.

Not the way I really talk.

9. I Dunno... But Davram Bashere Is One Badass Dude...
Davram Bashere, Lord of Bashere, Tyr and Sidona, Guardian of the Blightborder, Defender of the Heartland, is Marshal-General to Queen Tenobia of Saldaea, and is counted as one of the Five Great Captains. He is married to lady Deira ni'Ghaline t'Bashere. He has the best claim to the throne of Saldaea, if the present Queen Tenobia abdicated or died.

13. Someone who disagrees with the thought police
At least in the context of DU. The term would have a very different meaning in the context of a Republican board, or a KKK meeting.

But here on DU, most of the time it means someone who offended the groupthink people.

eight symptoms of groupthink:

Illusion of invulnerability –Creates excessive optimism that encourages taking extreme risks.

Collective rationalization – Members discount warnings and do not reconsider their assumptions.

Belief in inherent morality – Members believe in the rightness of their cause and therefore ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions.

Stereotyped views of out-groups – Negative views of “enemy” make effective responses to conflict seem unnecessary.

Direct pressure on dissenters – Members are under pressure not to express arguments against any of the group’s views.

Self-censorship – Doubts and deviations from the perceived group consensus are not expressed.

Illusion of unanimity – The majority view and judgments are assumed to be unanimous.

Self-appointed ‘mindguards’ – Members protect the group and the leader from information that is problematic or contradictory to the group’s cohesiveness, view, and/or decisions.
