Trump: I'm worth whatever I feel
Source: CNN Money

Trump: My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with the markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.

Ceresney: Let me just understand that a little. You said your net worth goes up and down based upon your own feelings?

Trump: Yes, even my own feelings, as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day ...

Ceresney: When you publicly state a net worth number, what do you base that number on?

Trump: I would say it's my general attitude at the time that the question may be asked. And as I say, it varies.

First let me say that I really do not consider Trump a viable candidate for POTUS. Too much baggage. What I do find interesting is his attititude and how it gives an insight into the thinking of the super rich, and that the rank and file teabaggers actually believe they speak for them and their situation.

2. The teabaggers are soooo clueless, clueless does not even adequately explain
their rationale. I've asked people before why they vote republican, they've said, "because some of them make lots of money." So, I've asked how come they're sooo poor. All I get is a dumb look.

Teabaggers are just a bunch of reflexes with no intelligence attached.

21. Ever tell them some Democrats make lots of money?
Soros, Buffet, Speilberg and other Hollywood types, lots of high tech types, lots of Wall Street types, the Ayers family (as in "When I say Obama, you say Ayers."), the family that owned WAPO during the Deep Throat years and many other publishing and broadcast media families, aand on and on. (WAsn't Bloomberg a Democrat when he made his initial fortune?)

31. I would probably get some inane response like, "well, if that's what you
choose to believe." I've pretty much given up talking to republicans, teabaggers, the whole lot.

It's not as crazy as you may think. Sadly.

It's probably based on what he thinks he can get for certain properties.

5. Wow - Trump is an ultimate Republicon 'conservative'
Edited on Fri Apr-22-11 11:49 AM by SpiralHawk
Trump just proves what a line of bullshit it is when republicons claim to be 'conservative.' No way.

Republicons just use the word 'conservative' to mask the occult truth: they are radical, fear-and-greed-driven materialists.

Republicons, as Trump demonstrates, are an embodiment of Casino Ethics.

7. The GOP is actually the very definition of conservative
Conservative in politics does not refer to "environment" or "energy" conservation that is actually more in line with "frugality." It refers to an ethos which is first and foremost interested with the preservation of the status quo and traditional power structures, and the furthering of their interests and power. As such, if you claim the GOP is not "conservative" you're trying to invoke a no true Scotsman fallacy.

If you don't like what you see in the mirror, change your actual ethos not its image.

32. But yet some people listen to them and believe in them. I've never never
gotten the logic of why some people that have nothing fall for the crap peddled by republicans. Some have said like RW authoritative religion, similar people flock to republicans. I see them as the most un-American influence being peddled.

17. Funny that, I've always considered the GOP very liberal concerning blood shed and deficit spending.
They do those two things both freely and abundantly.

10. Dunning-Kruger Effect, anyone?
I always knew the guy was a media clown and not a terribly good businessman, a charismatic son of a rich man who had the family contacts he needed to build ridiculous things on other people's money and then bankrupt.

What I hadn't realized until now was how unbearably thick he is, learning to spew a new set of slogans but never having a single thought behind any of them.

However, that's what the plutocracy wants, a dimwitted but charismatic front man who will give the speeches and say the right things but never, ever, sit down to do the job he was elected to.

Edited on Fri Apr-22-11 12:40 PM by bongbong
Casinos, that is. EVERY SINGLE TIME we (my SO & I) have gambled in a Trump casino, we both have a net profit - sometimes over a thousand. Thanks Donald.

And actually I love his candidacy, since it will divide the repigs. Mainstream repigs have denounced him. And if he wins the nomination - which the British bookies are probably putting at 100 to 1 - it will be beyond a cakewalk for Obama. BTW, at this point I care about Obama winning pretty much for the sole reason of possible SCOTUS picks. It is news to no one that he is center-right.

20. Dodging the IRS?
A million more, a million less
Cannot erase the worthless grace
That waves in every graying tress
That falls half-stupid cross his face,
Accenting lies and bullsh_t claims
Which flow at an astounding pace . . .

27. I have known real conservative Republicans--and this Chump is no
real conservative--anything. The Republican party has gone into stealth mode, they are running this clown because they are playing for broke. These are unstable times, Obama is expected to win, but if he doesn't (underhanded means are always possible), another idiot rich white boy as president would mean full steam ahead dictatorship.

I think if the Chump made it into office, it would be pitchfork time and they know it. They are gambling with our lives.

badly they've been F'ed over and over throughout the years starting with Reagan. Trickle-down Voodoo economics means the BS trickles down. Eventually it will be pitchfork time.

Since its value can't really be pegged down, I think the balance sheet of his 1120 might enjoy some attention.
